The Sir Winston Churchill is a 3-masted topsail schooner. Designed by Camper & Nicholson and constructed of Steel, and Built between 1964-66 by Richard Dunston (Hessle) Ltd., at the Haven Shipyard, Hessle, Yorks. The Ship was built in response to the idea of a tall ships race, first set forward by Bernard Morgan in 1954. In 1955, a committee was formed that initially called itself the Sail Training Race Committee.  Originally used as a training vessel accommodating up to 46 people, The Sir Winston Churchill has now completed its extensive refurbishment and conversion into a luxury cruise vessel.
