Thalea, you sign your emails with greetings from the Exas
family. Before our week in While we were planning this trip, with your prompt help and
answers, we had high expectations for the amount of fun we would have. Really, a
week sailing in the Greek islands – how much more fun can there be? But the
concept pales in comparison with the reality. This holiday was one that we will
never forget and one that we are hoping to take again. Seeing dolphins swim by,
watching tuna jumping, startling turtles, jumping off the back of the boat into
the bluest of waters in stunning bays, amazing sails or sitting on the bow of
the boat during a quiet motor, touring ancient ruins, eating at tavernas,
drinking ouzo, listening to Greek music, learning the histories of the islands,
pulling into port and seeing the friends we made at the last port – words
can’t truly describe the romance of it all. Thanks to our skippers for making
this romance a reality. I keep mentioning skippers because as you know we had a rare situation – two skippers in one week! When the father of our first skipper died, we were promptly sent George. This circumstance, thankfully, doesn’t happen often but you obviously were prepared for such events. Of course, our first concern was for Pericles and his return to his village to be with his family. We were so impressed and humbled by the care he took to make sure we were okay before he left. We were also impressed with the way everything was handled, secured, and organized to keep our vacation running smoothly. I’m sure that we don’t know half of the workings back in the office to ensure this smoothness, but we are grateful to you, Thalea and Nikos. We’ve returned to our crazy lives now, but our magical holiday remains with us. Thank you for welcoming us into your family, and we look forward to the family reunion!
